Game 6 returns to Miami on Sunday evening. The series is 3-2 in Dallas's favor.
There are so many story lines that have come out of this series so far. Lebron no showing in the 4th quarters, Nowitzki over coming the flu to lead the Mavs to victory. Dallas's role players giving Dirk absolutely no help, and then all of sudden showing up to play. Miami's inability to close out games.
There are plenty to choose from. But one story line is being over-looked.
The series is right were it is suppose to be. Basically each team has held serve, and the Miami Heat still have home court advantage and 2 tries to win the NBA championship.
Yes Dallas has some momentum going into game 6 Sunday night, but no more then Miami had after they won game 3 in Dallas.
Dallas gets two chances to close out the Heat in Miami. They know how important it will be to do it on the first try though. If they give Miami alittle confidence, alittle life, it could be disastrous to their championship run at the title. Closing the series out on Miami's home court will be even sweeter for the Mavs, since it was Miami that did that to them in 2006.
We all know that this is why the 3 Miami stars were brought together in South beach. To win championship, remember Lebron saying they could win "4,5,6, maybe 7 titles or more". Well it won't be easy with a injured Dwayne Wade and Lebron James with a bruised ego.
Stats show that the winners of game 5 have gone on to win the NBA title 19 of the 26 times the Finals were tied 2-2. But these Finals have gone against the statistics all series long.
These Finals have turned into a battle between Dallas's offense vs. Miami's defense.
If the Dallas offense that showed up in game 5 shows up in game 6 the Mavericks will be celebrating their first NBA title.
The Heat need the defense they had in the series with the Chicago Bulls to show up. If that defense shows up the Heat have a chance to force a game 7.
There is one more problem for Miami though. Just as they cannot count on James's offense in the 4th quarter of games, they are now unable to depend on his defense in the 4th quarters as well. Jason Terry has had his way with Lebron in the 4th quarters of the last two games.
If Dallas wants to win their first NBA title they need to feed Nowitzki continuously all night long. He will deliver, as he has proven to time and time again. They must also get another big game from Terry, Stevenson, and Barea.
If Miami wants to send this series to a game 7 they need to feed Dwayne Wade, injured hip or not. He will deliver, as he has proven he can. They need Chris Bosh to have a big game offensively. In the 4th quarter of game 6 the Miami Heat need Lebron James to get out of D. Wades way and let him finish. This is Dwayne's team. If they do that they hopefully force a game 7.
Will Miami be able to force a game 7? Will Dallas close out the series and win their first NBA title in game 6?
Tell us what you think…L2
