So the Miami Heat won game 3 in last nights game against the Dallas Mavericks. They now have a 2-1 lead in the series and home court advantage back.
If you would have listened to the so called experts after the game you would be led to believe that the Heat dominated the entire game and crushed Dallas. That just isn't so. Yes the Heat got up by as many as 14 points only to give up that lead again. They have been doing that all series long.
Dallas's defense held the potent Miami offense to under 90 points. In the 4th quarter of game 3 the Mavericks were able to quiet Lebron James and Bosh. The only scorer the Heat had was D. Wade and that is all they needed. That is saying quite a bit since Miami holds three of the top four players in this series on their team. Dallas's lone star, Nowitzki of course.
Dirk was the best player on the court in the 4th quarter last night, even better then D. Wade. Nowitzki had 15 of the Mavericks 22 points in the 4th quarter last night. At one point he scored 12 points in a row. Dirk finished the game with 34 points, the rest of the starters only had 27. In there lies Dallas's problem.
Dallas can (and in my opinion still will) win this series, but Dirk cannot do it alone. Does he need someone to pour in 30 points? No. Nowitzki only needs his team mates to show up and play like they have all season long.
In the 4th quarter Jason Kidd and Terry were both scoreless last night. Not a single point from these two former all-stars. Dallas's bench which average around 30 points a game in the regular season is averaging less then 20 in the Finals.
Marion who had been big in the first two games of this series was not much of a factor on the offensive side last night in game 3. Although he is still playing excellent defense on James.
Miami has done nothing to say they are going to run away with this. Chris Bosh did find his game last night contributing 18 points, but that is the first game that he has really been a factor. Will he keep it up? I don't think so. Lebron is getting frustrated that the Heat are not looking to him in the closing minutes of these close games. Need proof just look how he chastised a reporter who asked why he is not getting the ball late in the game. It is Wade's number that is being called. Lebron will at some point try to force his will on the game and it will hurt them, you watch.
So what does Dallas need to do? Just show up and play like you can. Dirk will deliver as we all know, he just needs the rest of his team to deliver as well. They don't have to be spectacular, that is what he will be. They just have to be themselves, hit the open jump shot like you have all season. Hold on to the ball like you have all season long. Rebound and stop giving second chance shots and points, just like you have all season.
The Heat haven't won anything yet. The Mavericks have giving them 2 games.
So in the up coming must win game 4 lets see if the Dallas Mavericks can just show up like they have done all season long.
Tell us what you think, agree or disagree at least we know what the PEOPLE think. L2

That's what happens when someone decides to take it to the hole instead of running down the shot clock and shooting contested 3 pointers.
No one is going to stop Dirk either.
@Drunkin Sailor thank you for your comment. I absolutely agree with you that no one is going to stop Dirk. Was Wade taking the ball to the rack at the end of game 3? I'm not so sure he was, he was making his jump shot for sure. Dallas played good defense again last night making the Heat players take long range shots with the clock running down. I didnt see the domination from them that certain experts (Johnson, Berry) said there was. I think they want this Heat team to be great but they arent there yet.
Dallas isn't that good. Just cause the heat arent playing well doesn't mean Dallas has a chance. Maybe next year we will have a real NBA finals cause we all
Know Dallas shouldn't be there. Not signing up , don't want crap sent to me email. Sorry
It's not The heats fault the media overhypes them. The heat should be critized for barely winning against the mavs. The media should be talking about how crappy the mavs are. Dork Digler CHOKED , this time they can't blame it on S. Nash .
@Anonymous thank for your comment. You say that Dallas isnt that good yet they beat the defending champions the LA Lakers and the up and coming OKC Thunder. You say the Heat arent playing well, they have played like this all season long nothing new there. You say next we might have a real final but you do not share with what teams would make it a "real" final to you? We force no one to sign up or subscribe via email or even read or respond to our "crap" but thank you for your comment.
@Anonymous thank you for the comment. I agree with you that it is not the Heat's fault they are overhyped, but that was not the question either. The question was are they overhyped? And by your response I take it you think they are. The Mavs have not played a great game I agree but with that being said neither have the Heat. Dallas has actually played better defense then the Heat have. The Heat have blown leads of 15 and 14 points so far in this series already. Dirk didnt choke, he did miss but he didnt choke. You dont score 15 points in a quarter and choke. Choking my friend is being afraid of the ball in the closing minutes or not even taking the shot. You are going to say Steve Nash…lol really?
Steve Nash left Dallas in 2004....Dallas Mavericks were in the NBA Finals in 2006. Just alittle sports history.
No more blaming S Nash for sucking is what I meant. I know the history of the crappy mavs . People Need to get off the mavs nuts. They aren't that good. Yes they have had a good year but oh well, truth is just cause spurs and lakers had off years doesnt make the mavs a contender. U know I am right, counts the rings compadre.
Signed Zoro
@Anonymous than you for your comment. Yes the Mavericks have had a good year and yes it actually does make them a contender since they are playing in the NBA Finals. It sounds to me like you are a Spurs and Lakes fan? Spurs are way to old to actually contend, gonna go through a few years of getting younger. As for the Lakes after losing Phil they are going to lose either Bynum or Odem so they won't be as big as they were this year. Plus Mike Brown couldn't win with Lebron and he won't win with Kobe. Nobody here has stated they are Mav fans, I've just stated that the media is trying to annoint the Heat as champions and a dynasty before they have won anything. Dallas may and I believe they will, win this series. That doesn't make me a Dallas fan.
Dirk is a great player, but he cant play 48 minutes like Lebron and Wade. And that is why the Mavs will lose. Dirk cant do it by himself. He was given brief periods of rest throughout the game but he looked very fatigued at the end. Lets face it. He is getting up there in age. Meanwhile, Lebron and Wade can go all day. They got young fresh legs. I dont see the Mavs winning this series unless Wade or Lebron gets hurt and knocked out of the finals. Heat win it all in Game 6 in Miami. And if they score a good true center in the off season, look out. They could win the next 4 or 5 titles. Chalmers is shaping up to be a pretty good PG.
@Dreweiser thank you for your comment. True Dirk is getting up there in age. I believe he 36 maybe 37. Dirk has done it for 48 mins so far just look at his numbers. He is playing excellent ball rapecially late in the ball games. The problem is he hasn't gotten the help from anyone one his team yet. As for Wade and James, only D Wade has proven he can do it for 48 mins. James hasn't just look at history. He has no rings he folds late in games and teams whichever one he is on (Cleveland or Miami) do not like him having the ball late becaUse he is unproven. As to if the Heat get a true dominate center yes they will be a real force then. Chalmers is ok off the bench, I don't know if he could carry a team though. Dallas has a good chance to win this series they just need to give Dirk alittle help.
