By now you probably know the verdict has been handed out in the Casey Anthony murder trial. She was found not guilty on the most serious of charges that being murder in the 1st degree, manslaughter, and aggravated child abuse. She was found guilty on the 4 charges of lying to a law enforcement officer. We at Loose Topics have said all along that this would be the out come and we will explain why later.
It seems that the public, as well as every news channel that has been covering the case, is outraged with the outcome of this case. They believe that justice was not served for little Caylee Anthony. We think that what the public really wants is closure for that little girl, and that was not served. Our justice system was in full effect during this case and the law was served whether you agree with that or not.
In a case like this, or any criminal case, the person on trial is innocent until proven guilty. That is the way our law is was and always will be. It is for the protection of everyone you, me, and even the criminal.
In a murder case the prosecution must prove a murder was committed beyond a reasonable doubt in order to convict. That is a big burden in some cases, especially this one. In case like this where all the evidence is circumstantial, the prosecution must play on emotions and common sense. Which is what this prosecution team attempted to do. The one problem they had working against them, was the law.
The jurors in this case where shown all kinds of forensic evidence that possibly could connect Casey Anthony to the murder of her daughter. Again the law is working against them here. Possibly connect Casey is not enough, they must prove without a reasonable doubt that she did it. If the jurors are not 100% sure then they must vote not guilty, that is the law. Showing pictures of Casey dancing and drinking in night clubs, out shopping, getting tattoos all while her daughter is missing definitely paints a picture of a horrible mother. Do those things make her the murderer of her daughter?
The defense in this case actually had an easier job then the prosecution. All they had to do was come up with some off the wall theories that would open the door of reasonable doubt. And that is exactly what they did. They said that little Caylee drowned in a pool. Of course they don't have to prove this they just have to say it. They came out and admitted that Casey Anthony lied about many things. They proved, which is not their burden to, that everyone else in the Anthony family lies as well. They through out there the possible pool drowning, they showed pictures of Caylee playing around and in the pool. They destroyed a family by raising accusations of Casey being molested by her father and brother. Opening the can of reasonable doubt, not proving someones innocence.
When you flip a coin you have a 50/50 shot of that coin landing on heads and a 50/50 shot of that coin landing on tails. That is exactly what you have when you go to trial by jury. It is never a slam dunk for either the defense or the prosecution, because they cannot tell how a jury is going to vote. Every jury is different and a different jury may have came back with a different verdict in this case. But this is the jury that the defense and the prosecution chose, both sides had chances to remove jurors if they didn't want them on the jury.
With all the media coverage this case received starting 3 years ago, it is no wonder so many people have strong opinions about how this case turned out. One major problem is this case was the media. The media with all the shows on HLN, CNN, FOX NEWS, with personalities like Nancy Grace and others Casey Anthony was convicted in court of public opinion long before she was afforded a trial. With their biased reporting of course they swayed their viewers to believe she was guilty, because they themselves thought she was guilty. So when the verdict came back not guilty, of the course there is outrage by the public. They were led to believe that there was no way she could be found not guilty, there was too much evidence pointing to her. Or was that evidence portrayed by the media to make her look guilty? Just a thought.
Look lets never forget that a little girl lost her life 3 years ago. How she was killed we still don't know. Who killed little Caylee Anthony we still don't know. Why someone killed Caylee Anthony we still don't know. Hopefully one day we will find the truth about what happened to her and why someone would do this to a beautiful little girl. Did this case make me want to hold my young son and protect him even more from harm. You better believe it. Can we here at Loos Topics comprehend how someone kills or even hurts a little girl like that, no we can not. Can we here at Loose Topics understand how Casey Anthony was found not guilty, yes we can.
The general public must understand that the jury did not walk into that court room and state that they thought Casey Anthony was innocent. What they said was that the prosecution could not prove to them without a reasonable doubt that she killed little Cayelee. That doesn't mean she didn't do it. That means in the court of law they couldn't prove it. We will finish this article with this, for all the people that watched this case on television and were and still are upset about the verdict outcome.
It is not what you know it is what you can prove. That is unfortunately the law right or wrong. We may not like the verdict that the jury came back with yesterday, but it is not the justice system's fault. Those jurors did their job and used all evidence that was provided to them to come to their conclusion.
As we said earlier hopefully one day little Caylee Anthony will have justice and we will know who and why someone killed her.
Tells what you think about the verdict? Tell us what you think about how our justice system works?
Tells us anything you would like about this case?
We want to know how the PEOPLE fell.

OMG , her mom killed her . Why is that hard for people to see. There has been many cases were a guilty verdict was rendered with less circ.evidence. These moron Floridians can't get crap right I guess or maybe they are to scared. Connect the dots given and it WAS enough to convict her it's just the jury failed in this case . Don't hide behind our crappy justice system and act like it works. Peoples opinions are our justice system and sometimes people's opinions are crap . It could of easily gone the other way in another town or city . But to act like she got off cause there was lack of evidence or no solid proof is wack, I mean wack. She got off cause those morons dont know how to connect the dots and they gave their opinion . Unfortunately there is a kid dead and no one to pay the price..... And u say our justice system worked. Erroneous my friend
I agree with Anonymous ^ TS . she only got off cause they probably needed a play by play of what happened an didn't have one. They were scared cause convicting her meant that more than likely they would be handing her a death penalty and they didn't want anything to do with that. My opinion. TS
@Anonymous thank you for your comment. Yes unfortunately there is a dead child in this case. Did the justice system work you ask, yes it did right done to the letter of the law. Does that make it right that a murderer walks free, sometimes unfortunately that happens...It is like the juror said they never said she was innocent they said the prosecution did not provide enough evidence to prove without a reasonable doubt that she actually committed the murder. With no finger prints no witness no hair fiber no physical evidence you can connect dots all you want but you must remeber that a not guilty verdict is possible. If she was found guilty you and everyone else would be screaming how our justice system found justice for caylee. Now the same system could not find her guilty everyone says the system doesn't work.
Who doesn't report their kid missing for 31 days? Who says their kid is with a baby sitter that doesn't exist? Who puts duct tape on their kids mouth? Who puts their kid In a trunk with their mouth taped shut? Who has an imaginary job? Who's car smells like a dead body? Who says that her daughter is with her imaginary rich boyfriend ? Who lies to cops over and over and over? Fo real! Thats enough evidence to convince me, and I would have said guilty.
Lol, what other evidence do u want people? A filming of the murder. Who needs physical evidence for a conviction? We just put that church bitch in jail for life for feeding hot sauce to her kid and we didn't have proof she meant to kill or harm him . She was convicted on not getting him help on time, bull butter. Justice systems needs changing ASAP .
Yes anonymous those are bad things. Not reporting your child should be a crime and they are trying to make it law. The other things are circumstantial and no forensic expert could prove when the duct tape was put on. That is sad but true. When you feed a child hotsauce you don't have to prove the intent the action was admitted by the guilty. We here are saddened that this little girl is dead and that the murderer probably got away. But I will pose this question, as I have before, list one piece of solid evidence that absolutely proves without any doubt Casey did it? Not a smell or not a lie not a non reporting horrible mother, but actual evidence?
U don't need solid evidence to convict is what I am saying. To me there was enough evidence to convict an to others there wasnt enough. If I was on the jury , that would have been enough to say guilty and then I would be representing the justice system by my opinion. U personally may need solid evidence to convict but most don't . The justice system is what the person makes of it when in that situation. There is no across the board justice system and that's why it needs fixing . To me I say guilty, u say not guilty .... And we come to this conclusion based on our opinions right. Well if u say ng and I say g, then what It's a wash cause me and u disagree as jurors and the accused walks . That's not justice system. If they found her guilty would u say the justice system failed? Why do u need concrete evidence to convict?
Yes all those things are bad she did and they aren't against the law. U are correct . BUT WHEN U DO THOSE THINGS AND YOUR KID COMES UP MISSING AND FOUND DEAD AND U ARE ON TRIAL FOR HER MURDER AND U KEEP LYING AN LYING AND YOUR KIDS BEST INTEREST ISN'T AT HAND THEN U ARE FRKN GUILTY of the charge. There are loops holes around the system for the guilty and the unfortunately the guilty get to walk cause the retarded justice system is CRAP. . oh the caps wasn't yelling. It was enough to convict in my book
You dont need concrete evidence but you must prove it beyond a reasonable doubt and there is no gray area there that is the law. I personally do not need concrete evidence but I do need to be 100% sure of it. This is nothing wrong with our justice system at all it is the best justice system in the world, it is up to lawyers to prove or disprove things in our system. Our constitution states we will tried by our peers, in a fair court of law. Sometimes the guilty walk away and we believe that happened here but that does not mean the system didnt work. If they found her guilty I would be saying great the prosecution proved to the jury beyond a reasonable doubt she did it and she should get whatever sentence they give her. This isnt about we here thinking she is innocent because we believe she is not but this about how our justice system works, it is actually fascinating when you step back and look at it. There are not loop holes in this system the justice system is plain and dry you are innocent until proven guilty and the state or prosecution must prove that. If they cannot prove it, that doesnt make you innocent that just means they didnt have enough evidence to prove it.
