As September 11 rolls around again, it is only right that we remember the events that took place that fateful day. We were attacked. People try to use all kinds of fancy words to hide this fact, but the simple truth is we were violently attacked that day. It doesn't matter that the people responsible were on a religious mission, in uniform, or were part of an army. They attacked the great county that is America and killed thousands of innocent Americans in the process.
It has been 11 years since that terrible day, and the pictures and stories of the people and the loss still evoke so much emotion in all of us. The world actually stood still that morning while we all watched in horror. September 11, 2001 will forever be remembered for the rest of our lives.
The images from that day will be forever burned into our brains. It comes as no surprise that so much attention is focused on the emotions that people feel. The absolute devastation that we all felt that day help create the greatest sense of unity the country has ever seen. We were one people, one nation, violently attacked, yet determined to stand together and heal together.
In honoring the 11 year anniversary of the 9-11-2001 attacks we must remember and reflect upon the unity that this great country embraced after those attacks. It may feel sometimes that those feelings are far removed from the people of this nation, but aren't we still the same people of the same great country? Let us not lose the unity and love for our fellow American, for if so the lives that were lost in those attacks would be in vain.
We must never forget the attacks and horror from 9-11-2001, but we must also embrace the unity this country had on 9-12-2001. It should not take a national tragedy for us to unite as a nation and believe in one another.
Remember the pain, the sadness and even the anger that day caused, then use those emotions to renew your spirit in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL. Accept the fact that although we appear broken and sometimes divided and that times are hard for so many people right now, if we stand together, arm in arm, America is still the land of the free. The greatest country on Earth.
That day so many more things could have happened. Our economy could have collapsed, it didn't. Gas prices could have sky rocketed, but they didn't. The stock market could have crashed, it did not. Conditions were so right for this country to be devastated both emotionally and economically, but we weren't. This is what the attackers wanted, it didn't happen. What they didn't plan on was the American people joining together in support of freedom.
In honor of all the victims that were lost or affected that day, we must never forget those events. We must never forget all the major conflicts that we have been and are involved in for our fight for freedom.
We must never have these horrible things happen to us agian. In order to keep them from happening we must try and understand the evil behind the acts. Will we ever really understand such evil? To kill innocent men, women, and children and to celebrate in the streets as if you did something amazing. I can not and will never understand that at all.
It makes no sense at all, but evil rarely does. There are solutions and we must try to find them. You can not solve a problem by ignoring it, that is for sure. We can not work on the solutions until we realize there is a problem. We now know the problem. We can not sit back and hope everything will turn out ok, that would not be honoring those who lost their lives on 9-11-2001. We have enemies. These enemies are enemies of freedom as well. If there is only one thing about America that towers above all and those who gave their lives on 9-11-2001, is the love for freedom. It is not only what we stand for, but what we fight for, and even die for.
IN REMEMBERANCE OF ALL OF THOSE THAT LOST THEIR LIVES ON 9-11-2001 AND IN THE WAR AGIANST TERROR....

That is a very nice slide show, and a great way to remember all of the lives that were taken on that horrible day. Great job!
@Candace thank you for viewing it...
It's never gets easy remembering this sad day :(
When u attach that song with those memories, I don't think any could keep from getting emotional and hold back some tears. There is nothing else in our lifetime that can evoke such an emotional feeling from me than that day. Good job Lon. Happy birthday to you as well.

@Julie you are right this day will never get easier, but there are things that we can take away from what happened. Things that will make us better as a nation hopefully. @Mike in the line of work we both do, knowing what those police and firemen went through to try and help their fellow man, makes me proud to do what we do. I also know as you do that at any day at any moment it can all be taken away as it was for them. We protect the people of this town with our lives, asking nothing in return. Many say they would do it, but actually only a few really do. Thank you for what you do and NEVER FORGET...
