EVERYONE GOES HOME...

This is the time of year when you hear all the cliche holiday sayings right? Tis' the season, it's time for caring, its time for sharing, etc. And it is true, it is time for all of those things.

This is the time of year when families get together. Families that may not have seen each other in sometime are now coming together. This is time of year when family and family time seems to mean more then any other time of the year.

This is the time of year when we all reflect on how lucky we are to have our families in our lives. This includes our immediate family as well as our extended family (and our fire service family).

This is also a very hard time for some. This is a time of year when people tend to remember what and who they have lost. The memories of spending holidays with loved ones that have past is a very heavy burden. The thought that you will never again get to physically see that loved one tends to pop up more and more around this time of year.

What we here want to make sure is that EVERYONE GOES HOME to see your family. We want to make sure you understand that is it things you do or don't do that determines whether you will get to go home and see your family.  Our job is too dynamic and too dangerous to not make sure we are taking all the proper precautions to ensure our safe return home after our tour on duty. As you will see most LODD and Line Of Duty Injuries are preventable.

The video that follows is provided by the Chicago Fire Department and the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation. The video is a trailer for a short film they are going to put out soon. The film is one of the best I have ever seen (I have had the opportunity to actual see the film and if you visited here yesterday you may have see as well. It has since been removed for reasons unknown but I can play you the trailer).

The second video is a trailer from the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation and the FDNY. It is the second part to the first film EVERYONE GOES HOME. This film is called STILL WORKING....EVERYONE GOES HOME. Both of these trailers need to be viewed and they show exactly why we must all always make sure we go home.

What I am asking of you, so that we may make sure that EVERYONE GOES HOME, is to set aside some spare time to actually sit down and watch this video. Watch it with family members, watch it with fellow firefighters at the fire stations, watch with friends. It is these people, friends, family members and fellow firefighters, that we must go home to everyday.

If only one person watches this video and takes something from it then it, as well as we here, have done a good job in spreading the word that EVERYONE GOES HOME..

To everyone that visits our site WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR..PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS MAKE IT HOME..
